This figure shows the unfiltered residuals for the east-west
component of all stations. These are the residuals of the timeseries relative
to REYK.
The stations are moving periodically east-west with a period of
approximately 1 year. The amplitude varies from 4 to 8 mm between stations.
So now we wonder what can cause these variations in a network that is processed
in a baselinewise fashion. Noting that all the stations are moving in phase,
regardless of on which tectonic plate they are, we try changing the refernce station
by simply subtracting the timeseries of our new reference station from the
other timeseries.
